How the Wallpaper Calculator Works
Wallpaper calculation is more complex than paint. Our calculator first determines how many vertical strips are needed to cover your room's perimeter: Strips Needed = (Room Perimeter in inches) / (Roll Width in inches).
Next, it calculates how many full strips you can get from a single roll, accounting for the pattern repeat. This is the most critical step: Strips per Roll = Floor(Roll Length / (Wall Height + Pattern Repeat)). Finally, it divides the total strips needed by the strips per roll and adds a waste factor to give you the total number of rolls to buy.
Always Buy Extra!
It's critical to buy all the rolls you need for a project at one time to ensure they are from the same 'dye lot' or 'run'. Rolls from different batches can have slight color variations that will be noticeable on your wall.
